The City of Hanford's Housing programs are targeted to Hanford's very low to moderate-income families and are subject to the availability of program funds. Douty Street. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Fridays. For TDD/TYY Dial 711. The City offers Spanish-speaking personnel for the needs of the community.
The City of Hanford's First-Time Homebuyer Program and Emergency Repair Program are available to City of Hanford residents.

The HOME Sweet Home First-time Homebuyers Program offers qualified first-time homebuyers the opportunity to borrow up to $75,000 for down payment and/or closing costs to purchase a newly constructed (limit $392,000) or existing (limit $371,000) home within the Hanford city limits. This program offers a 45-year loan with deferred payments (meaning no payment due) for the entirety of the loan term. The loan carries a 0% simple interest rate and is secured by a second Deed of Trust. With a $1000.00 flat fee down-payment requirement. Staff currently maintains an interest list for this program.

Emergency Repair Program
The City of Hanford Emergency Repair Program is designed to assist low- to moderate-income persons make emergency/minor repairs, disability-accessibility modifications to their home. Emergency repairs are those repairs that are necessary to safeguard against imminent danger to human life, health and safety, or to protect property from further structural damage. Grants up to $24,999 are available to qualifying homeowners. Staff currently maintains an interest list for this program.
To be considered a contractor for the Emergency Repair Program, a contractor must complete both the vendor setup form and the W-9. Additionally, the following information must be provided and kept up-to-date annually:
- Contractor's Business Name
- Lead Contact Person
- Address
- Phone Number
- Valid License Number
- Email Contact
Please note homeowners are free to select any qualified contractor of their choice. Job approval is NOT guaranteed until both clients are deemed eligible and the loan committee grants final approval.
